Tunnell Vision - April 2025

HELP Initiative is teaming up with Bayside to launch a Safer Community Campaign. This initiative, fully funded by the State of Delaware, is completely free for residents and is focused on enhancing the safety and well-being in the neighborhood. On Thursday, May 1st, 2025, the HELP Initiative Team will begin distributing informational door hangers throughout Bayside.

As a part of this campaign, they will host an Enrollment Session on Friday, May 16th, 2025 from 10AM - 2PM at Pool #1 in Bayside. The rain date is set for Saturday, May 17th.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Delaware Manufactured Home Owners Association, the HELP Initiative will provide the following Safer Community Campaign Services at no cost to Bayside Residents:

• Safety-ON - Health & Safety Kit Measures (including a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, night lights, and registration in public safety programs such as Smart911.com)
• HEC2 - Home Energy Checkup & Counseling Services
• Windows-ON - Window inserts built and installed to improve energy efficiency and public safety, available upon resident request
• Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) - Indoor air quality testing using advanced Air Advice technology with a detailed findings report available upon request
• Water-ON - Water sampling conducted in collaboration with the Division of Public Health, with findings reports on chemical and biological contaminants available upon request

This is a completely free event and light refreshments will be provided.

Our local Coast Guard Auxiliary is gearing up for another National Boating Safety Week, running from Saturday, May 17th till Friday, May 23rd.

Interested in joining in on the fun? Here are some local activities to participate in during National Boating Safety Week:

• Saturday 5/17/25
  • USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 12-09 Indian River Vessel Examiner's will be set up in the parking lot at the corner to the entrance of Paradise Grill and the Beach in Bayside. Several guest boat slips are available at this location for those who would like to boat up to our location to get the free Vessel Safety Check. Also, boaters can bring their trailered boats for inspection as well simply by pulling into the parking lot.
  • Delaware Boating Safety Course at Lakeside Community Center (all day starting at 8am.) Click the button below to sign up.
• Sunday 5/18/25
  • A free Vessel Safety Check event will be held at Pot-Nets Seaside in the parking lot next to Seaside Bar & Grill. Simply drive the boat to the lot to have it inspected.

All Pot-Nets Communities' boaters, PWC (jet skis), kayaks, and paddle boards are welcome to both events.
